Dignitas in switzerland? ?
the euthanasia place in switzerland dignitas, i was wondering, do you have to be terminally ill to qualify to go there or just an illness that compromises the quality of your life significantly? for example someone ended up a "vegetable" after being hit by a car? would they qualify?
According to Dignitas, they first look to see if there is a solvable problem and if there would be a possibility to help the person to go on with his or her life, yet under improved conditions. If there is no chance of recovery and if they believe the person has made a rational and premeditated decision to die, the person is accepted for assisted suicide.
Goddess of Grammar
A "vegetable" can't think, or at least can't communicate his/her thoughts, and I'm pretty sure Dignitas is for assisted-suicide, so I think no. Possibly if the person had a living will in place at the time of the accident, though.
