The answer for your report is probably NO, but I have certainly heard people call the Swiss dialects of German "Swiss". The question of whether it is a language is harder: most people will say it is not (that it's a dialect) but some versions are far more different from standard German than some other entities classed as languages (ex Norwegian and Danish, I believe) are from each other. The official language is standard German, and writing would almost always be in standard German. (Swiss-German writing looks very weird...)

There are four official languages in Switzerland. German is the most commonly spoken, followed by French, Italian and Romansh. Its total area is 15,940 sq. mi (41,285 km²). It is the 135th largest country in the world, not to mention that it is insanely beautiful and exceptionally clean! :-)
