Locarno and its area are a famous region for tourism, so there are several offers.

Bellinzona has a medieval city centre, but not much else to see.

Of course there are many mountains nearby, and within an hours' drive there are really many possibilities like Lugano, Swiss Miniature (in Melide) and so on.

I haven't heard of a gay scene around there - consider that these towns are fairly small, so even to find one single bar for gays would be a lucky punch!

Being there, any bar keeper surely would give you some hints where to go to.

Hy, Locarno is a very lovely town! (I live there)
Lugano is also very lovely.

Cities in Switzerland that have a great gay scene are definitely Zurich and Basel, but Zurich has the Gay parade as well ocne a year. Anyhow Locarno is a lovely place and you can visit many beautiful places like Melide, Milano and Lugano. Just take the boat across to Italy.

Barista
can't really give you tips around the gay scene in that city, but i'm sure if you go to the park down by the lake or the "lido" (outside pool by the lake) you'll find people!!! and locarno is a great place and so is bellinzona
Have fun!!!
