It depends where you are from on how you would view it. I was there some time ago and found it both charming and eccentric; very expensive, very orderly and great chocolate! The cities are quaint compared to big US cities and the countryside is just gorgeous. |

Hi
I think yes but I'm Swiss so I'm not sure if that counts... If you like sports, good food and nature - you'll have fun.

I've lived in Switzerland for 7 years now. When we moved it was for an unknown period, 2 years and then we'll see--now it looks pretty permanent (but who knows?). I know for the first few years it was really the not knowing if it was short-term or long-term that stressed me out, other that that--yes absolutely. Especially if you've never lived in Europe.

You'll probably get a thousand different answers from a thousand people if you ask such an indifferent question. Why don't you specify what exactly you want to know? If you don't consider to do so, listen to my experience: It's a perfect police state, although that the landscape is quite nice. People as such are cold and pretty racist. Well, I know I'll now get some thumbs down for this remark - but reconsider first before doing so... |

My best friend is from Geneva so I have been there many times to visit her. She previously lived in San Francisco & New York so I think the transition was a bit harsh - although Geneva (and Switzerland) is beautiful it seems to be much 'quieter' than America. She found it more difficult to make friends and life is very expensive & as previously said orderly. So after 2 years, she decided to move to London, which she loves! Personally, I love to visit but would not want to live there for more than a year.
So it would be a great experience, especially if you are into sking etc... But maybe not for 3 years!! |

No I have not. I would say from what I know about it that it would be nice as long as you like cold long winters and can handle high altitudes as most of the country is in the mountains. |
