I live in zurich and my suggestion for both of you is check the weather infos DAILY before you go. Here in CH it is common if one day can be bright sunshiny day and the next day is a rainy day. The weather is unpredictable. Its already September now means the autumn already started and the weather is getting cooler and cooler.
If you visit Lucern, don't miss the Pilatus, great scenery from the tip of the mountain (take the gondola if you dont feel like walking all the way up).
Zermatt is also very nice. Bring a pullover with.
