The Fastest train to take is the ICE (German train) which travels from Amsterdam CS to Lucerne in c. 8 hours 10. The ICE number is 105. You leave Amsterdam at 08:04 and arrive in Basel at 14:47. You should leave Basel SBB from Track 4 ("Track" is called "Gleis" in Swiss German stations). Your train will be a EuroCity bound for Milan, via Lucerne! That train leaves at 15:04 and arrives at 16:14 in Lucerne.

However, the above information was based on the fastest journey, with least amount of changes. See the website of the Swiss Federal Railways for a timetable that will fit what you need!

I could also advise you taking the Night Train! It allows you to arrive in Lucerne at 08:14 in the morining with a changing in Basel at roughly 07:00 in the morning.
You can also see the above link or visit:

Hope this has helped,

with the fastest train (ICE) the journey takes about 8 hours, in case you leave Amsterdam at 08:00 AM, then you have only 1 train change in Basel.
http://www.sbb.ch/en/
fill in your prefered departure time in the above site and it will tell you how long the journey is and where you have to change the train.
