I'm going to Geneva in end December. Just want to find out what is the weather like, and how should I dress?

I'm from the tropics, have a moderately warm suede, faux fur lined coat, some knitted sweaters. Will this be enough? Do I need thermal wear?

I'm a Canadian living in Switzerland (Zurich, which is probably very slightly colder than Geneva) and I'm constantly amazed at how cold the tropical people I know find it here. So my guess is yes, get thermal wear and definitely rain gear, and gloves.

Definitely get some warmer things, its damp and cold there, and snowy. Since you're not used to the cold, get thermal stuff.

I would also say definitely thermal underwear, a hat that covers your ears or some ear protectors and a scarf. Warm padded shoes preferably anti-water. Geneva can be miserably cold and windy in winter. Better be prepared and then enjoy a sunny warm day :)
