I am changing planes in Zurich, Switzerland, which does not have the Euro.?

Can I use Euros in the bars and restarants while I am in the airport or nearby?
Additional Details
Do they accept Euro coins or will we have to pay in Euro notes? The advantage to the coins is that it is a smaller unit and the change in Swiss Francs will be less.

They will accept them but give you a bad rate and give you change in francs.

Use a credit card.

Ялмар ™
Yes you can but you ll get a bad exchange rate better convert Euros to Swissfranks at a bank on your arrival there.

Mark
Well, they accept euro, but it´s better if you change your money in Swiss franks. You can find a bank in airport or outside. In Switzerland it´s not difficult to find a bank.
I´m saying that because if you pay in euro you will pay much more the product. People want to earn on this thing, especially in airports.
Generally they don´t accept coins, but only notes.

Véronique K
Of course, all the bars, restaurants and shopping center accept EUR.. nevertheless they'll give you back the change in Swiss Franc.... but you might use as well your credit card. Even in Switzerland in most of the big cities and super-market you can pay in EURO. Enjoy your trip...

Goddess of Grammar
notes yes, coins not usually

buy a coffee with the 9 francs in change you end up with

tesorotx
They accept euros, swiss francs or american currency the change you'll be given is swiss francs. I went last year.

You can pay by Euro, Swiss Francs or even use your credit card. Just remember if you use your card, you may be charged a processing fee for each transaction.

Christopher F
When I was in Switzerland, they accepted the Euro. This was in June 2005.
