It's pretty certain you WON'T make money in the Peace Corps, Doctors Without Borders, the UN or an NGO...but you will help lots of people that way. If you are more interested in money than direct healing or helping to build water systems, try teaching English as a second language. You could enjoy your time, travel, help people learn and make a little money, too.
