these are the main things that you should visit on your trip.
The Collégiale church
Next to the Château, on the spacious square, you will find the Collégiale church (open daily 8am–6pm).
Vauseyon Gorge
The vauseyon gorge is reached by taking the number 1 tram to Vauseyon and following the brown signs. From the road the gorge cannot be seen, but take my word for it that the effort will be worth while.
The Château
The Musée d’Art et d’Histoire
Tues–Sun 10am–5pm, Thurs until 9pm; CHF7, free on Wed but only 1pm – 5pm).
Walk the Old Town
Esplanade du Mont Blanc
The statue of justice
The Harbour
Diesse Tower
The Greifenbrunnen (Griffon Fountain)
Corbets Passage
Midway between Market Crossing and Maison des Halles (Covered Market), do not miss CORBETS PASSAGE, a kind of Neuchatel closed passage with a splendid spiral staircase (Renaissance style), newly renovated with great discernment.
Have a wonderful trip!!!!!!! |

"Went to the train information office and a fine young man gave us a map of the city. It was Saturday, so market day was in full force when we arrived at Place des Halles. This is French Switzerland and mostly French was spoken all around us. People all knew each other - market-day greetings and conversation. The market place, side streets and cafes were busy and lively - a terrific time to visit. Walked up high to the Collegiate Church with its ramparts and cloister and views of the city down to the lake." |
