Why do you travel if not to be surprised? Just come and see! I guarantee you'll like our national cuisine - which is, by the way, a combination of French and Italian. Worthless to mention them all. But it's bullshit to say that "Röschti" is typically Swiss - the Americans know it by the name of hased browns... Just learn this word: En Guete - which means bon appétit!

It is totally different to anything here!

I went to Australia this year and its amazing how similar the food and the brands were.

When I go skiing to switzerland- the food is the best! (but not the same!)

You will get LOADS of dairy based foods- cheese (mmmm!) milk (tastes different) and some strange things like horse!!

You may also notice that if you buy a hot drink, they serve it luke warm! (The swiss think this will prevent throat cancer!)

Enjoy!

The most typical food in Switzerland is Rösti which is fried grated potato with anything from Bacon and Mushrooms to just Cheese. They also make Pizza, Pasta, Fondue (Cheese or Meat), but be warned, the cheese is very strong!

I'm sure you will love it there, I know I do!
