Ivan Rached David

Informal refusal of my sponsored visit visa application to Switzerland.?

Based on my verbal conversation with Embassy of Switzerland’s(Manila, Philippines) visa officer Ms. Jackie Jose last October 20, the informal denial was due to first, the discrepancy in my surname and place of birth in the birth and baptismal certificate, and second, they found my reason for going to Switzerland – which is to spend a vacation with my father – doubtful.

I am an illegitimate son of my single mother Mona Celina Revereza David. My father, Rached Zalila is a Tunisian who resides in Switzerland. Having born to unwed parents and who never lived together, my true and lawful name is Ivan Rached David and my place of birth is in San Ildefonso, Bulacan. The errors in the documents were committed by my mother in good faith, due to inadvertence and confusion. I have compiled all the documents, including an affidavit of explanation proving that Ivan Rached David and Ivan Rached Zalila both refer to me. In addition to this testament, the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs honored such documents (with regards to the discrepancy) and granted me my passport.

I have never met my father and have no communication with him until last September 2008 when we were able to get in touch through email.

My only intention of going to Switzerland is to see him and spend time with him – something I haven’t experienced in my life. Although there’s no need for me to say, this opportunity to meet him in person will complete me.

Is there anyone here that can give me some information on how to streghten and win my appeal? Is there a point person in The Federal Authorithy of Switzerland who handles this case?
Please help me.

Ivan, I understand your position and hope the person who responded can really help you, but I believe that they turned your application down because you represent a "risk" hence the embassy believes that you will stay in Switzerland even after your visa expires.
hope things can work out for you.

Dear Ivan

Your request, your question is of utmost interest to me - I take it very, very seriousely! I am Swiss, I am a licensed social worker who had been dealing with the issue of separated fathers/children for many years. What you wish to do - meeting your father - is nothing more than a basic human right. I can't promise to make your dream come true, still, I'm willing in assisting you.

If you agree I can try to make a contact to the Swiss authorities so that they might open the doors from this side of the world. In this case, please contact me via e-mail (press the button to get access to the mail function). I leave this contact possibility open exclusively for you, normally it's locked. So, if you can, hurry up and write to me!
