Is this possible? One day: Zurich > Partial Glacier/Bernina Express > Dusseldorf, Germany?

Is this a feasible plan? Please advice :)

One day: Zurich > Partial Glacier/Bernina Express > Dusseldorf, Germany

- I'm plan to fly into Zurich (3rd week of Jan 09) Sunday morning (before 9 am).
- Take a train to Chur and go up to Brig on the Glacier Express
- OR take the Bernina Express from Chur to Tirano
- Eitherways, I hope to take a train back to Zurich and on to Dusseldorf, Germany the same day. Its ok if I reach Dusseldorf late night. I only need to be in time for a business appointment the next morning.

I've checked the websites and train schedules to an extent and it seems tight but doable. So I thought I'd ask you folks with experience. What do you think? Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks,
Nav

No, but there's an overnight train from Basel to Dusseldorf (2330 to 630) so if you're a good train sleeper that might be an option.

I've done both Expresses and would probably vote for the Bernina of the two.

No. For me, it seems to be quite undoable. At least if you want to enjoy what you experience and see. I mean, of course as a guiness world record, it definitely would be possible, but if you really want to have a good time, don't do it. It's a huge waste of money (because you'd have to hurry BIG time) and it's just a very sad thing to do. I mean, Switzerland is much too beautiful to just run throught it without looking at anything and enjoying it. If you really only want to spend one day here, it's better to just directly take a train to Düsseldorf.

And when do you breath...? Forget it, it's definitely wasted time and money what you are planning to do. On the other hand, why do you ask at all if you seem to know the answer?
