Lake Lucerne Switzerland steamboats any good?

Are the Steamboats in Lake Lucerne a good day out worth the price?

Also has anyone been on the Waverley and would say it's a good trip?

Additional Details
You are correct about the Waverley I see it from my house every summer in sunny Scotland, I didn't mean it to sound like the same question sorry.

Highly recommend a trip. One to do is the combined boat, rail and cablecar trip. Take the boat to Vitznau and board the cog-wheel train, this takes you to the top of the Rigi mountain, great views; then take the train down to the 2nd station (they tell you where to get off); cable-car to Weggis and boat back to Luzern.

About the Waverley - think you might be a bit confused here. I understand the PS Waverley is actually in Scotland, but it's preservation is financed by the company that owns the steamships on Lake Luzern and Lac Leman (Geneva). I am prepared to stand corrected here, but am sure that's right.

Yep, steamboats are great. The lake is really pretty, the mountains come right down to the water, very cool. I don't know how much they cost (I have a Generalabonnement) but do look into getting a day-card (or Swiss-Pass) because the boats are included in that.

Don't know what the Waverley is, sorry.

Absolutely! Lake Lucerne is gorgeous, and worth the tour. The boat gives you great photo opportunities too, I have lots of pictures of Lucerne taken from the boats.
