Hello,
I'm a straight man but I'd like to give you some information.
First of all, you should know that Zurich is a very gay friendly place. Our new mayoress (Stadtpräsidentin) Corinne Mauch elected just two weeks ago is an openly lesbian woman. People of Zurich, including me, are very proud of the tolerance towards gay people that we have in Zurich.
The area around Zähringerplatz (very close to my place, in the old town, right at the Zentralbibliothek) is considered as one of the main spots for gay people. There are plenty of bars over there. One of those is Barfüsserbar which is a sushi bar. There are more gay men there but also lesbians and of course straight people who enjoy the great sushi to fair prices like me. You might meet people there who know much more than I do.
