First: Nothing is cheap in Switzerland, still, prices vary a lot like in any country. To get you an idea of living costs, please visit this website: http://www.swissworld.org/en/economy/wages_and_prosperity/cost_of_living/ And this site is specializing in home rentals: http://homegate.ch/homegate/index;HGSESSIONID=w1KQJSbfmV5FLrZcXLrrhvvfQ0JRgPRGWwfL6RCfrzBk8M4xdb7n!-2088510306?layout=&agency=&lang=en
Second: You move to Berne where people are to be said veeery, veeery slow, so don't expect a quick result.
Third: Berne is not only slow but rather boring (sorry, Bernese, I don't want ot offend you). It might be the capital, but it actually is a big village. If you really want to see something that reminds you of a town there is only Zurich and Geneva. |

bern is not boring!!!! it always depends on your attitude towards it, on what you expect and on what you make out of it! it is quiet and peaceful compared to large cities in other countries but thats what makes bern such a wonderful place to live. i hope you find something to stay and you enjoy your time here!
by the way, cheaper places to live can be found in places very close to bern, such as köniz or ittigen. the public transport system is great here so you don't have to worry about that when living in one of these "suburbs". |
