February is better. Although Switzerland is wonderful in December it is definitely more expensive to travel around that time with all of the holidays. (Flights, hotel, etc.)
February is just as nice weather-wise and if you plan on going skiing chances are better to have good snow on the ground.

Personally, I would go in February. In any case, if you come to Switzerland any time from late November to early April it is really only worth it to go Skiing - the cities are cold and winds come down from the arctic and travel across the plains which means that most major cities are hit by the freezing "Bise", hence my advice that you ski (if you do return with intent of visiting Switzerland's cities, come in July/August)

So, as I was saying you should go skiing. The question is when? I would say that it is best to go in February. It doesn't have the biting cold of January, nor does it have the poor snow of early December and it doesn't have the slush of March. In February the skies are often clear of clouds and the snow is just right. As much as it sounds bizarre, skiing actually warms you up!

Because I do not know what sort of activities you wanted to do. For me December and February means skiing, no matter what!

Do not hesitate to inform me (via Yahoo! Answers) of any other questions you may have!

If you're planning on going skiing, then I would say February. There will probably be more snow on the hills.

Either month for visiting the cities is fine, since most are by the water the weather won't be too nice.

I totally agree with the others. February is much better than December. In February the sun is usually coming out more often than in December and although it's still cold it's usually warmer than in December. Also if you're planning on going to the Alps to go skiing then the snow situation will be much better too. Besides in December all the stores are trying to make their Christmas sales, so prices are usually higher around that time and the streets in the cities are crowded like crazy.
