Sounds like a good, locigal itinerary, don't do more than what you have planned. I only wonder why everbody wants to go to Lucerne - it's the biggest tourist trap in Switzerland you can imagine, it has nothing, but nothing to do with authentic Swiss life. If, however you chose it to go on to Engelberg from where you can visit Mount Pilatus, I don't mind ;-). The same would actually apply for Interlaken - consider it only as a place from where you do side trips.

I've only been to Lucern once.I can only help u with that.Make sure u visit Mount Titlis.Get the cable car tickets to go up there.Its a stop you will have to go since you have children.From there the whole family can choose to go skiing or just to enjoy the snow up in the mountains.Visit the Butcherer's chain of watches to enjoy a wider variety of watches at a cheap price.There is a little street near the Lucern Hotel.Make sure you travel the whole of that street
and cross a bridge full of paintings of Jesus before reaching into another market where you can buy daily groceries from a market there. |

I agree with taking a side trip from Interlaken. If you want to see one of the most spectacular sights in Switzerland, take the train from Interlaken to Wengen. There, you will be surrounded by high peaks including the Eiger, Monch, Jungfrau. You will also have an awesome view down 1000M to Lauterbrunnen. You could also decide to continue up to Jungfraujoch, the highest train station in Europe. There, you can see from Italy to Germany and there is an Ice palace carved into the glacier that you can go into, which is included in the cost of the train fare. If you are there in the spring/summer, there is also dog sledding at the Jungfraujoch. Wengen is truly the most beautiful place that my wife and I have been in switzerland and we cannot wait until we have the opportunity to go back. |
