Schengen visa?
can i fly to switzerland (I can go there on my normal passport) and cross the border into the schengen countries? it certainly seems possible, since geneva is on the border? if i can do this, i save loads on schengen visas when travelling!
you do need a shengen visa. switzerland;uk;norway need a special visa;the risks for u to travel to any other border countries and being checked are minimal but if you get cought anywhere you will be banned from europe all together for the next 3 years and the chance to get a new visa are near non existant

I think you need a schengen visa as there are border control between Switzerland and surrounding countries.
If you don't need visa to Switzerland and you need a visa for the surrounding countries i think it would be wise to get schengen visa.

you will need a schengen visa ? do u have south african passport? as they can travel to switzerland without visa but need visa for all other schengen states

Switzerland is not a member of the EU, so your ability to travel there sans visa is quite irrelevant. If you need a Schengen visa, you need a Schengen visa, regardless of the border crossing you choose.
