Standard salary in switzerland?

I would like to apply a job in Switzerland. Do I need to mention the expected salary? I have no idea what is the standard salary in Switzerland. If I have a master degree (Msc) without any work experience, how big should i ask? and how big is the living cost in Switzerland?

Living is quite expensive, it depends on the area.

My husband asks for between big ranges. They ask him what his salary expectation is, and if the lowest he is willing to go is 80k a year, then he will say between 90k-120k a year. And then they usually accept it and offer him something in the middle, or they will say we only have jobs for 70k a year, and he will say hes willing to go 85k. And hes never had a job less then his minimum.

I know cashiers make like 16 francs an hour. So definately ask for more then that :)

You could also try payscale.com sometimes they have information on Swiss Market sometimes they dont. But usually Switzerland pays about 10k more per year then the US does. So if you want to go off a U.S. Job title and add 10k I am sure it will be fine.

The standard salary with your background might be around CHF 6000 per month. This is paid 13 times per year. You may also enjoy a bonus. You may want to check around and see how much a standard apartment costs as well so you can make sure to be comfortable.

Hi Angel! I don't think that you have a master's degree in economics, right? Otherwise you would know that you can't ask how living cost in Switzerland are without saying where you're from (in order to compare). Anyway, here is a link that leeds you to a page that gives you a price idea about some basic products: http://switzerland.isyours.com/e/guide/costoflife/index.html
As for a standard salary: There is no such thing in this country. It all depends of your qualifications, experience and age. If you apply for a job, it's not expected to say how much you want to make with it - that question comes up at the earliest after you had been invited for an interview. Good luck, anyway!

First you must know the lowest salary you have to get, if you would like to survive. Maybe around 3'500 CHF. You have a diplom and maybe you speak several languages? You are on the right way. You will be asked for diploms (they count here) but also for experience (you miss it but they would maybe give you the opportunity to work, with the minimum salary, then maybe they will arise it for you). Languages count!
