Swatch Watches - Spring / Summer Collection 2007
http://www.swatch.com/en/watches/all.html

they are not that pricey, maybe you'll find one of your taste.

A Swiss watch that isn't costly? Go for the Swatch. Victorinox makes great penknives that come in all sorts of colors and are quite inexpensive - people love to get those as souvenirs. Anything made by the company "Hergiswil Glas" is nice - small glass boxes, etc. There is a type of liquor called Williams where a pear is ripened inside the bottle and bottled with the alcohol. It looks really cool.

Hey, I second the cow bell idea. Worked in the Alps for about a year. Get a big one with an authentic "dress quality" neck strap. The kind for driving your cow to market on a festival day wearing your lederhosen. And, you will not find those in some Park Avenue store, like a watch.

grinz
watches: tissot is good quality, expensive
swatch is cheap, yet nice

The one gift from Switzerland everyone loves is chocholate. As for the watch, shop around and buy what you like and can afford. There's no lack of department stores and shops to shop for watches in. You'll have to recover the VAT at the airport so make sure the vendor gives you the right paperwork (believe me, they're efficient and know exactly what to do).

Why not a cow bell?? you can find them at most stores (pocket size to HUGE one).. Cheap in Switzerland???? If youi are from USA, prices are the same. Believe it or not.
I am originally from Switzerland and live in L.A. - Bought a Tissot watch in US, went in Switzerland a year later and found the the exact same one in Geneva....SAME PRICE !!!!!
Don't know which city you gonna stay.Cheap stores: Migros, Manor (La Placette).

Well buy cookoo clock, Voctorinox Swiss Knives. If you dont want pricey things, just get Gruyeres cheese, Chocolates which is Swiss made and uhhh maybe magnet. Keychains are quite expensive... Best price? Well almost everywhere in Switzeland have the same price more or less. Watches are good too.... There are a lot of good ones in Geneva, Lausanne, Zurich, Lucerne or Lugano. Nauchatel has a watch museum.. its nice too. Just try to bagain on shops, sometimes they give discounts on cash payments.

Sarah T
absolutely swiss chocalate. just but packs of it and pass around in your office. It really does taste better, smoother

If expense is no object watches are fantastic, however, they tend to be very expensive, which would take them out of the souvenir category.
Good value souvenirs would be chocolate, Swiss army knives, lace or a fancy bottle of Swiss liqueur.
Shop in the major cities, but not in the shops that cater to tourists. Ask where the locals shop and avoid shopping at the airport.
