François Louis Callier opened the first swiss chocolate factory in Switzerland. Later, others perfected the art of chocolate making.

I have provided some websites regarding the history of chocolate from past to near present.

Its not called Swiss Miss Hot Chocolate for nothing I guess.

Switzerland has been the first to develop chocolate as an industrial product. And since we know that a product creates its own customers, I suppose the swiss have the longest tradition of eating chocolate and that's why they eat so much of it.
