Switzerland Holiday help!!!?

My friends and I are planning to go to a hotel in Switzerland called Swiss Holiday Park. It is located in a town called Morschach, but we were wondering what would be the cheapest way to get from Zurich airport to the hotel or to Morschach and how much it would cost?
Also, I know the nearest ski mountain is Stoos, but will the mountain be open by the end of November? Any answers or help is much appreciated!!

Mr Who
Thanks for that question! I learned to ski in and around Stoos 50 years ago, when there was no cable car bringing you up directly from Morschach; then, there only was (and it still is) the spectacular, very steep funicular railway from "Schlattli". I highly recommend it! Stoos is one of the few villages in the Swiss alps where no car can go - at least in winter. I don't think that I have to mention that this makes it very special, quiet but not boring. You find information about this dreamy village and a contact where to ask if the ski lifts are open by end of November here: http://www.stoos.ch/winterenglish.html.

Here is an overlook of the area as well as of the many possibilities that the area offers: http://www.ski-mythen.ch/anzeigetafel.php?Region=3

Morschach is not a town but also a quiet village - high above the Lake of the Four Cantons (Vierwaldstättersee). From there, you can see across the lake to the Rütli (the site where Switzerland is told to have been founded centuries ago), it lies in the very heart of Switzerland. It can be reached easily by train (Zurich-Airport to Brunnen by train), then by coach. Start with this link in order to do a personalized itinerary: http://fahrplan.sbb.ch/bin/query.exe/en?seqnr=1&ident=ib.010070219.1222807439&OK#focus. As you can see, the ride only takes roughly over 2 hours and costs you 52 Swiss francs for the return trip in second class. The Swiss national railways plus the Swiss postal coaches are by far the cheapest and most reliable means to go there.

Have fun in the Land of the Helvets!

The train station is located in the lower section of the Zurich Airport (just follow the signs that have the picture of the train or say Banhoff).
It should take you around an hour to get to where you are going. You will have to get off the train in Brunnen and take the bus. (Most people in Zurich speak English, so ask them if you need any help.)
The tickets to get on the train can be purchased from machines or from the ticket window, so you can ask questions. The prices listed online right now are 33 francs. The dollar is just about even with the franc right now, so that will give you a good idea of what you are spending, or you can go to www.xe.com to get the most current exchange rate when you leave.
Most mountains are open by the end of November but you can check that info before you leave as well. Just type in your destination into the search field on myswitzerland.com

chicken man
My limited experience traveling in Switzerland is that the trains are quite good. A quick search on http://www.sbb.ch/en/ suggests round trip tickets are about 51 Swiss Francs. Note Morschach has 3 train stations, so make sure you know where you're going. You might call the hotel for suggestions, too.

If there are a number of you and the trip is relatively short, you may consider renting a car instead. It may be more economical.

I doubt there will be snow. Temperatures in nearby Stans are still in the 50's Fahrenheit in November. The mountains may be higher and colder, but it is unlikely they will have had time to make snow. Again, check with your hotel.

Have fun!
