Switzerland ski resort?
Hi, what is the difference between Davos, Davos Platz, Davos Dorf, Davos Klosters?
I'm planning to take the Glacier express up to Davos and stay a couple of nights there to ski. But i do not know which hotel or resort to stay in that is near to the station. Is all the different Davos in the same location? Which part of Davos will i be alighting at?
Davos is the name of the town (actually, it's more a village). Davos Platz and Davos Dorf are the names of the train stations because there are 2 train stations there.
Davos Klosters doesn't exist. Klosters is the name of another village, very close to Davos. When you go skiing in Davos, you can ski in Klosters as well (e.g. you go up the mountain from Davos and ski down to Klosters). It's all in the same ticket.
I would suggest to stay in Davos. It's certainly more fun than Klosters, particularly in the evening. I can't suggest a hotel because the prices vary. You have small hotels but you have also five star hotels...
Don't forget to go to the Kirchner Musuem in Davos when you're there.
