When would be the best time to visit switzerland? specifically the Geneva area? Where is the best place to stay and way to get there? What are some things that should definately be done while there? Any information would be helpful.

I went to Switzerland over the summer from June to September, my family also lives over there. I would say August is the best month to visit, July is good to. I am not sure what you are wanting to do but in August and July there are a lot of events and things to do. Im not sure where you live, but I live in Florida, and it is pretty hot, so it was so nice to go over there. The weather got no higher than 80*F. It was beautiful! Also, if you go over there though, even though it is summer time make sure you bring a jacket or two. For about 4 days it got really cold (like 35*-40*F).
The best place to fly into is Milan, Italy because most airports do not fly into anywhere closer to Geneve. If you live in the US, then you get more for your money with Franks in Switzerland and Euros you get less about 35EUROS-60US dollars.
I personally stayed mostly in Lugano. It was very nice. They had shopping, some night life, lots of activities. Also, on August 1st is Switzerland's Independence Day. Most towns have huge fireworks, parties, and lots of things to do.
Definitely, go see the mountians. My favorite place was Valle Maggia, and Val di Blenio. That is close to Locarno. They have gorgeous waterfalls, little rivers, mountians, cute houses, historic things. They had a little bit of everything. It was wonderful!
I hope this helps! =)

If you dont come for skiing to switzerland, best time will be between june and september. Juli and august are hoidaytime in europe, so many peopeles are around.
Switzerland is a small country, biggest city is zurich, about 370000 peopeles live there, together with aglomeration about one million.
There are international Airports in Basel, Zurich-Kloten(biggestone) and Geneva. Frome United States it is possible with a stop in Frankfurt(Germany) or from Milano. Possible other Connections, I dont know exactly.
Switzerland is not a cheap country, it will be not easy to find accomandation for less then 30 Swissfranks.
Things to See in Switzerland. Geneva is a nice City, Nice old part of the city, then half way of lake Geneva is Lausanne, there you can find a beautiful cathedral, and if you are interested in sports, there is also the olympic museum.
Those places are in the french part of switzerland. Then like in the other answer written, the ticino, which is the italian part of switzerland, many nice things to see there. My favorite place is valle(valley) vercasca, with a really nice small river and awesom clear water.
If you want, you write me a mail, i think it should work with the yahoo account, if I know more about how much money you want to spend, Iit will be easyer to answer you.
And www.myswitzerland.com could maybe also help you
