yes, there are several castles near Bern. the most important castles are Burgdorf, Hilterfingen, Hünegg and Thunstetten. you can arrive them from Bern by train or bus.

There are castles all over Switzerland. The most famous is Chateau de Chillon which was actually built on the lake. ( Lake Geneva (Lac Leman), near Montreux.

If you go to Thun (about 1/2 by train) there are 2 castles. One is in town and the other one (Oberhofen) is on the lake.

hmmm...there's the Schloss Waldegg in Solothurn (it's the prefecture next to Bern)...takes like half an hour with the car, or the train...it's not THAT big, but really nice (the whole town is really beautiful, and built in barock style)...^ ^
