We are travelling to Geneva in early dec. We live in the tropics - hot place. What sort of clothes needed?

Mr Who
Both answerers above probably try to pamper you a bit too much. Several layers - forget it, no Swiss would do so. Let's face it: December in Geneva means of course winter (+5 - -5 ° C), but again, you as tourists don't have to bring half a garment store just because of some cold days. Remember, Geneva is not in the mountains where temperatures can of course be much, much different! A pair of regular jeans/trousers, long sleeved shirts that you also wear in other countries, a woolen cardigan plus a coat or thick jacket, a scarf, a woolen hat and - most important - warm shoes will do. Hands go in pockets, so even no gloves are needed. And there are many shops - do as the Swiss do, walk from one to the next if you feel really cold.

Geneva in December means Hat, Coat, Gloves, and a sweater. It will be cold, and the trick is to wear several layers of clothes, so you can add or remove some as needed. (Don't forget snow or hiking boots)

winter clothes, wool, coats, gloves, scarves the whole nine yards to protect yourself from the cold
