Good luck to find a hotel in Geneva at this period or in the touristic areas!!! You should have planed before.. ok.. anyway you might visit a good website for tourism: www.myswitzerland.com. If I was you, I'll do the following: from Geneva go to Montreux on the 23 or 24th to see the Christmas Market by the lake, which is for me the best Christmas Market in Switzerland. Montreux is touristic and important to visit if you come here. Then I'll try to go by train or rent a car and go to Zermatt for a day, but not sleep there as the price are too high and the hotels already full booked. Sleep in Sion (center of Wallis, between the mountain). The third and last day go to Zürich to visit the german part.. or Interlaken which is more near.. but doing all that in 3 days is exhausting I'm Swiss and won't advice you to do it only in 3 days. If you have to choose, I'll go for Montreux for one day and then go to Interlaken.. this is a wonderful place to see (costly as well) but you'll have a real taste of Switzerland and the mountain.. to sleep if you don't find any affordable hotel, try to look for one in Thun... this is about 45 minutes by train from Interlaken and not touristic. In Inrterlaken go to Grindelwald (by train you might reach it), to the Matterhorn, etc.

Enjoy your stay..

Goddess of Grammar
The Swiss aren't known for bargaining, or for worrying too much about empty hotel rooms, or for having empty hotel rooms over Christmas. If you get there, you'll need them more than they need you. Honestly, I'd suggest finding something online before you go and just letting that decide it for you. Any of the places the other answerer mentioned would be great, and are easily worth spending all three nights in--you can still travel around.
