I live just outside Zurich in Kloten and it is a great place to live. Zurich itself is very expensive so you might want to consider living a little further out. Train and bus connections are so amazing you can always get everywhere quickly.
A great book to buy is David Hampshires guide to Living and Working in Switzerland, it contains loads of great and very accurate advice.
Lake Zurich is beautiful, there are lots of grassy areas and places to swim for the summer. There are also play areas if you have kids.
Zurich is the largest town in Switzerland. On the plus side it means that there is lots going on, great shopping, excellent restaurants and always something to do. On the minus side there is more crime here than other places, but even that is minimal.
In summary - an excellent place to live :-) |

I love living in Zürich, it's a great place and has been chosen as the city that offers the best quality of life. Expect it though to be quite expensive depending on where you are coming from. Welcome aboard :-) |

Zurich has the highest quality of living in europe. Ive been there on holiday and I can see why and the people are very friendly. If you get a chance to live there then you must. |

I live on the Swiss/Italian border.
Zurich is a pretty city and it is very clean and extremely efficient (but, what else would you expect in Switzerland?). That said, it is very dull and incredibly expensive.
You do not say if you plan to go to Switzerland permanently, but if you do, remember you need someone to sponsor you to have permission to live there. A BIG employer can do this for you, or a close, blood relative if you have any there. Failing those possibilities, you have NO chance of living in Switzerland. |
