Its Bern, while the largest city is Zurich
From wikipedia

Boaz
Why didn't you ask which is the nicest place to live so that I could flaunt my lovely Immental area of Langnau. Sorry: just couldn't resist the urge.
Bern is the capital, seat of our local government and head of all the cantons. As you would say: Federal Capital.
Boaz.

bern is the capital

Goddess of Grammar
Bern, usually spelt "Berne" in English.

I was just there today and saw the pit-o-bears.

Bern is the capital of Switzerland. It has 140'000 inhabitants. The name "Bern" allegedly comes from the German word Bär (Bear) after Duke Berthold V of Zähringen (again allegedly) killed a bear there, hence the name.
