What are the approximate living expenses in Lugano, Switzerland? |
How much should a relatively young couple (we are both 30, no children yet, but planning to start a family by age 32) consider as a monthly budget to afford a comfortable living in Lugano, Switzerland? It doesn't need to be right in Lugano, but not too far out either, but if possible close to the lake.
I'm interested in approximate prices for 1) Rent, 2) Utilities (i.e, water, electricity, heating for winter, trash pick up, etc), 3) Health Insurance, 4) Transportation costs (ex: monthly cost to use public transportation within the city), etc...

Do your calculation the other way round: Take your expected salary and deduct the costs of living, then see if you make enough for a living in Switzerland. How about? Here is a link that tells you the average costs of living in Switzerland:

Lugano is in the middle to upper region of living costs in Switzerland (as many rich foreigners as well as Swiss pensioners live there - it's the Florida of Switzerland, sub-tropical in summer, mild in winter). |
