It's not where you're coming from that's important, it's what country you're a citizen of. UK citizens can visit Switzerland for short visits with just a passport. For other countries, you'll have to check the rules for yourself.

There's no "invitation letter" needed - don't know where the previous answerer got that idea.

As with all visa-related matters, you should confirm the rules yourself.

You only need your passport for visiting Switzerland unless you're planning to stay in the country for a very long time.
