until now i had no clue that there is also an Interlaken in the USA (and like in Switzerland between two lakes what the name finally means).
but since the question belongs to Interlaken Switzerland, here another answer. the distance between Interlaken Ost and West is about 1500 meters (5000 feet). the walking time is about 12 minutes (depends how fast you go). the easiest route from West to Ost is along the Bahnhofstrasse and then the Höheweg as you can see on the map below.
