What is the reputation of Europe in other parts of the world?

Cultured. Intellegent. Open-minded.

very generally: "highly respected" by asian countries; but whoa! "europe" is just too big, too many countries to be lumped together for an opinion.

I can only speak for the US, and too many people there don't know Europe exists. I'm serious.

Europe?
It's where the history, good food and bad fashion come from.

Yes, too many countries to lump together. Imagine would be like lumping together Americans in New York City and in small town in Iowa. I suspect there are times when a country's residents might think differently of Americans than some of their officials/elected officials.

It's been 50-years since the USA and her Allies "saved" several European countries and initiated programs to help them get back "on their feet." And let's not forget the Berlin Wall and Cold War. Hope this is being taught in classrooms.

I suspect when an American visits a European country and treats its citizens with respect and kindness that this will be returned...at least, I hope so. By nature I'm very friendly and a conversationalist. Wonder if there are any Europeans who don't like this?

I'm an Aussie, and I'm not sure what other Aussies think, but I would KILL to go to Europe one day! Maybe it has something to do with the fact that my grandfather and some of my great-grandparents were European . . . who knows?

In the US we see them as impetulant whining croissant eating smokers who won't keep their mouth shut and keep their opinions to themselves :>

As an American, I see Europe as sort of a delicacy of culture. It's sort of mysterious and energetic at the same time. Many of the world's most important events have happened overseas and I've always wanted to visit Italy and Spain and France. I don't think that most of us Americans project our true feelings about European countries because we are always trying to act hard and cocky like most of us really are. I suppose that if anyone was shed in a bad light at the moment, it would definately be us.
