Assuming at 1 1/2 years old your child is eating normal food and drinking cows milk, these are both readily available. When travelling to europe I used to pack some SMA follow on milk as a substitute for when travelling or if refrigeration wasn't available. (In a hotel).
I think the weather in europe is very much like UK in September. Can be hot, can be cold, might need suncream, might need umbrella. I'd pack for all eventualities if I were you.

The weather is warm and a bit sticky this time of year, perhaps cool at night. All of the toddlers foods are available but in different brands than you may be aqauinted with. Most people speak excellent English so shopping will be no problem.

THe weather is nice in the summer, but be very careful up in the mountains as the sun burns you really quick.

Baby food for babies of any age is easily available all over Switzerland. It's a modern country with a very high standard of living.
If you're going up in the mountains, just bring lots of suncream and warm clothing, especially for your kid.
The weather in September can be a little unpredictable like someone else said: it could be hot or rainy or something in between, so just be ready for both. It will probably get chilly in the evenings or at night if you're in the Alps -- chillier than if you were in the lower-altitude plains.
