You asked what makes Switzerland special. Its beauty, its people, its defense of its environment. As to WWII, Switzerland, though not a combatant, was not altogether a virgin--perhaps to keep the German fascists away, the Swiss, with their unique banking system, served the Nazis as a safe haaven for money and riches stolen from German, French, Dutch, and Danish Jews, which the Germans had murdered. The discussion continues to this day in Switzerland.
