What to do in Yverdon-les-bains Switzerland? |
I have been living here for a while. In Yverdon-les-bains.
Is there anything to do here where I can meet people... Its super lonely.
I work all week (no time on weekdays to do things), but weekends (saturday and Sunday) I have time... so is there anything to do in Yverdon those days?
im 18, and dont really like to go to the bar... so if there is anything that doesnt involve drunken stupidity that would be great. |

I do agree, Yverdon is a bit "in the middle of nowhere". Still, you have Internet acces and that's positive - with other words, many of the town's possibilites are not further away than your finger tips. Though, start searching by entering simply "Yverdon" in one of the many search engines (there is not only Google). You'll end up at many addresses. Go see all those places, there must be people there. If that is not enough, go to the local town hall (Hôtel de Ville, pl. Pestalozzi 1) and ask your question again.
Well, this is just one of the many ways how to find people. Start at one point and you'll see how you are going to do your own web.
By the way: Alex K recommends Lausanne, quite a big city. I don't think you will do the trip there by cycle - it's 40 hilly kms away! And I frankly ask myself why he expects German to be spoken there - Lausanne is in the French speaking area of Switzerland just like Yverdon. To learn French is certainely a reason why to be in that part of the country. And there is another idea coming up right now: If you did a language course with Ecole-club Migros (the best and cheapest "evening" school in Switzerland!, see http://www.ecole-club.ch/), between and after their lessons there are fantastic possibilites to meet people. This is my very personal experience. |

Yea, I remember this city.
I'd say, take your bike and go using Highway 5 and go to Lausanne. It's very nice landscape over the hill and I believe, Lausanne is a kind of closer to the civilization :)
However, I didn't like Lausanne because guys in McDonalds didn't speak German. In Switzerland- and no German! I was disappointed. No one from the team spoke German! |
