Where at Lake Constance,Switzerland for two 70year olds to have a quiet time with at least one side trip.?

We would like to visit lake Constance in May for one week but need disabled facillities as walking is not a strong point. Is it possible to take in Interlaken for a day or two? Which airport is best to fly into and which town /city is recommended?

The best place to be probably would be a town at the lake to have a stay, first choise could be Romanshorn (others are Arbon, Kreuzlingen, Rorschach).

Romanshorn has excellent railway connections to the rest of Switzerland, a ferry to Germany and several possibilities for ship tours on lake Constance.

Travelling from Romanshorn to Interlaken is possible with one change of train only - that should be possible as the railway services can organise any kind of assistance.

Zurich will be the closest airport which is approximately 40 miles from the city of Kontanz, Germany. Sure, a few days in Interlaken would be very easy to arrange from there, however, if you cannot walk that easily, I would be concerned about transportation. Are you driving? The Northern area of Lake Konstanz in Switzerland is beautiful with the cities of Stein am Rhein & Steckborn to name a few. If you head further South, you will be on the Austrian border. You may want to consider staying in either of those two cities. If you stay near there, try to go to Bad Zurzach, which is the thermal baths app. 30 minutes away. You would enjoy it very much as it is a senior wellness center. Consider staying there and you will be pampered to death and you can take day trips via train, no problem. Have fun, good luck and Gruezi (Typical Swiss Greeting)

EDIT: Regarding the comment below, I would not choose Kreuzlingen. It is literally a stones throw from Konstanz, Germany and does not sit on the lake.
