Where, in Switzerland, should I go in the first week of October to avoid the rain?

I think (Ticino/Tessin = italian speaking part, very nice region, they usually have more sun) would be good but you can have rain throughout the country. for example Locarno: http://www.myswitzerland.com/en.cfm/destinations/resorts/offer-Destinations_Resorts-General-111588.html
checkout the weather forecast before you go: http://meteo.sf.tv/sfmeteo/ (Swiss website)
or http://www.weatheronline.co.uk/Switzerland.htm (English)
for hotels I recommend: http://www.hrs.de (change the Deutsch button to English)

Weather: about 12-15 degrees usually - cloudy, rainy or sunny can be mixed....but Ticino is known for its sunny days...

Weather in Switzerland in October is usually fine! Try the Bernese Oberland, the Valais, the Engadin or the Ticino in the South.

Go to Interlaken, it is such a nice town between 2 beautiful lakes, and there are lots of activities there.

Hi,
I suggest you to go in Ticino (the italian speaking part of Switzerland), very close to Milan.
You could also go in Wallis canton where, even if it rains, you could stay in the thermal bath of Saillon, or Lavey, or Loesche les bains or Ovronnaz!
Enjoy.
