Where is the best place to catch the best view of Swiss Alps that is closest to France-Switzerland border?

We are going to Paris for few days and we thought we'd drop by Switzerland to see the Swiss Alps. However, we don't have much time so we are planning to do a one day trip to Switzerland, leaving very early in the morning and coming back very late at night.

We are looking for a place with a great view of Swiss Alps and somewhere we could have a small picnic in. (with small markets around that we can buy food from) It has to be close to France-Switzerland border as we don't have much time.
