i don't see the point of bring any of these. i've been to switzerland many times, and each time, i have $20 in my pocket (really so i can buy something if i need to at the american airports), an ATM card, and a credit card (i actually use amex, and have never had a problem in switzerland). switzerland is the banking capital of the world; you're really not going to have a problem getting money there, since getting cash out of a swiss atm using your foreign card is as simple as getting money at your local bank. there are plenty of atms at the airports too. btw, the touristy areas will accept euros and american dollars, but you'll get a bad exchange if you use it. swiss atms will give the best exchange rate. there may be a fee from the bank (depending on the bank), but they usually won't charge as much compared to what your bank in the states will charge you. as for what you can bring in, the easiest place to find this info is from your airline.

take a mix of swiss francs (currency), and maybe swiss franc travellers cheques, but take some plastic also.

Check Swiss Franc rate from converter below. You need Swiss Francs in switzerland

If you're just going to Switzerland, I agree with the answerer above about just using ATMs. If you're going to other places in Europe, you should be fine with Euros; enough places take Euros here that you won't be stranded or anything.

You should have a mix. keep the traveller's checks separate, there should be enough to get you a hotel and a meal etc. (I usually have $300), keep the numbers separate. You can withdraw money at any ATM, so don't worry about that, but get $50 to $100 in Euros before you go, so you can pay for a cab,etc when you land. FYI - ATM offers about the best exchange rate too.
