Was in Lausanne last September and had great weather but this year who knows. Lugano should be fine! But pls pack a pullover/jacket for cooler evenings. Enjoy

difficult question...you never really know! you can have gorgeous weather and warm days but it can rain and be cold as well! i hope you have luck! ...sorry for my useless answer but that's just the way it is!

I am just from the other side of the border, few miles away: It is not very cold . Lets say between min 15-18 C (60-63 F) and max 25 C (77-78 F) with some hotter days and some cooler mornings, depending from the height on sea level too.
The closeness with Lakes and some protection from the Alps make the region warmer than others at the same latitude.
Weather on both sides of the Alps in September is quite dry and stable
You even find palm trees in Lugano , near the Lake

I went to Locarno very recently (Locarno is about 12km from Logano) and the weather was gorgeous. I don't expect the weather would have changed much in the 4 days since I went.
