To be honest, your question a rather vague.
What is it you would like to do on this visit?
What would you like to see?
What are you interests?
You want to stay in a hotel?
You want to visit in the summer or winter?
The more details you give the better your answer will be.

Windermere of course! The beautiful lake, surrounding fells sides, Grizedale forest. Visit surrounding areas like Morecambe bay lancaster and slightly further a Field Manchester (if you fancysome shopping).

Also Devon and Cornwall are fantasticlly beautiful places coast line is second to none and stooped in so much history. England is a great place to visit-hope this as helped.

lozie
Deffo the lake district and Yorkshire

forgotful_guy
Lake district.

Balaboo
Wiltshire. you can visit Avesbury, close to Bristol, and other places. Close to Wales too.

Go to north Norfolk, Hunstanton way. Find a place in a village nearby. You'll enjoy that. Good luck!

Hi, London is not rural mate. Anywhere in the counties of Devon and Cornwall are really picturesque. Lots of places in the north are beautiful The lake district, Lake Windemere. Rye is a lovely town in Sussex. Canterbury in kent.

I like Cornwall, that is a really relaxing place but has shopping centres and theme parks ( flambards ) to visit. Or Yorkshire as i heard that has really nice views and countryside. Scotland aswell that has really nice views especially this time of year as they have loads of snow, in a peaceful village.

Cleobury Mortimer, Shropshire. 50 miles from Birmingham where they have great shopping. And just a stones throw from rural wales. The village itself is charming with a crooked steeple, lots of great pubs and a award winning curry house. Try the Foresters Inn at Wyre Forest and go and see Ludlow Castle where the 2 princes from Richard III were kept before they were murdered in the Tower of London.

Either Cornwall, The Yorkshire Dales, including the beautiful city of york or the Lake District

BrilliantPomegranate
County Durham. One medium sized city (Durham itself) and lots of countryside-ness.
The tourist boards are below for you.

Areas are quite "rural", depends on where you go.

Nike
There are probably many but I think Scotland would be better.
