An American in London?

Your city is very dirty and populated.
I, like many other Americans, have a hard time understanding the British accent. The garbage you people speak should NOT be considered English. Sounds more like gibberish.
Is there a way to get service in American in London?

I am reminded of something my aunt told me not long ago about a family trait that reminds me of this American trait. She had done some hard work in her back yard, and when I came to visit, she wanted me to see it because she knew I enjoyed yard work too. When I saw it, the first thing that came out of my mouth was, "Yeah, it's really nice, but you could've . . . . ". She looked at me and said, "That is the problem, right there, with your side of the family. Ya'll are so arrogant you have forgotten how to be gracious. Instead of simply enjoying my work for its worth to me, you have the adolescent attitude that you need to show me how to do it better, reflecting your own lack of self esteem in the need to be better than others."

Needless to say, this made me feel very humble because I respect my aunt very much. She is a wise woman in so many ways. And, Americans have this same problem culturally, or at the very least, socially. And, when we reflect that same lack of graciousness to the rest of the world, it is no wonder that cultures with so much more history and substance than ours, life France, Great Britain, just look at us, and sighing, are disgusted by such arrogance and immaturity.

I honestly suggest you take your cultural and intellectual shoe out of your mouth and try some humility when you approach people in Europe. Just try being a little more human and a little less American. It's really alright to ask for help in understanding people's accents and syntax. And, there is a way to focus on hearing that will help. Stop trying to use your American ears and start trying to hear with your anscestors' ears. You come from that gibberish. It's something to be proud of because it took alot to get us here. They know that, and they know that we have not figured that out yet. Try forgetting American successes in the world, and try remembering our dismal failures there. That ought to humble the proudest of us.

I say this in hopes you can hear me honestly and without prejudice, one American to another. I am not trying to make you feel less than; rather, I am trying to make you feel more than what you make yourself look like, here.

First of all have you never been to New York City? It far exceeds any filth I have ever seen in London, which wasn't much. Second of all, there is no such thing as a British accent. Britain consists of several countries that all have their own dialects and even more subgroups of dialects. If it is an English accent(from London) you are referring to, it is much more pleasant to my ears that all this slang Americans use. Thanks for perpetuating the Ugly American stereotype.

If you don't like being in our country, why don't you f*ck right off back to which ever stone you crawled from beneath.

You are the kind of stupid, arrogant, narrow minded, pathetic, deluded moron that perpetuates the folly that all Americans are like you.

Fortunately, there are people in both our nations that can see beyond your misguided thought processes.

I applaud all the Americans who have answered this question with a respect for the British. We Brits are from a very proud nation and we have kicked a.rse for thousands of years. Don't forget it. We are a peace loving country, but if you f*ck us off, then you will be sure to know about it.

If you don't like being here, f*ck off and don't come back as you will not be missed one little bit.

Your fellow countrymen, however, are welcome anytime and we actively encourage you to come and see us and what we are about. They do not deserve the shame you cause them.

Is it a wonder why they call Americans rude? Come on, you're in a foreign country. Try to have a little more patience. After all...you're the one visiting their country. Be polite. You're representing all of America.

Why would you complain about a city being populated?Aren't all cities populated? We know you're not a very smart fellow, but surely even idiots realize that cities,in order to function, need a population.

I am an American, and I do not agree with you. I understand the British accent. I like London. The British accent was the original English. I'm sure there will be some Americans that agree with you, but most won't.
British people, Americans don't hate the UK or anything. Don't let this message speak for everyone in the country.
