We go to Haven at Prestatyn (Presthaven Sands). We find it brilliant. It is near to Rhyll which has a fabulous outdoor pool area (well it did but they were doing it up last year so I haven't seen it). The camp itself has a indoor and an outdoor pool, ball soft play area, bikes to hire, arcades, plenty of children's activities, clubs competitions etc.... We love it. Usually we book with The Sun £9.50 holidays but it works out around & £100 in total with passes, linen etc for the weekend. You can also book direct with Haven. There are also other local activities which the site have advertised in the reception. If you do not have transport there is a bus which goes to and from the site regularly.

Well it depends what type of holiday?? I went on a camping holiday for a week in wales and it was excellent and really cheap. I want to Rhossili Bay in Gower in Swansea in Wales. Its great for kids as your outdoors and you got the beach close and loads of it, go walking and explore the little islands that get cut off by the incoming tyde and then not for is a seaside resort with a fun fair and arcades so you will have a fun packed holiday in a sea town resort but in the outdoors too!! hope you find something!! |

It depends what kind of holiday you want.....in the North you have Rhyl which has beaches, a funfair, donkeys. amusements etc. but it has gone run down and tatty and too commercialised. Its ideal for keeping kids occupied though and also a good base for exploring Snowdonia. Anglesey is gorgeous.....loads of beaches, a sea zoo, butterfly farm, castle, ferry day trip to Ireland ....etc but you really need a car to sightsee. Llandudno (not far from Rhyl) has a nice promenade and beach and lots to do for Kids......

pembrokeshire. absolutely gorgeous here. caravanning and camping are the most fun. google broad haven and try to find cheap holiday accomadation! or you can camp in my garden!!! lol |

Pwlleli (you can go for the day to the Haven caravan park as it has lots of activities. I would not stay there as it a bit naff but it is cheap though and may have improved)
Anglesey - Some great beaches such as Red Wharf Bay and
Benllech.
Llandudno is a good day out up to the Great Orme.
Not sure about Rhyl nowadays. Gone a bit rough I hear. |

Can't say about costs but as a beach Barmouth (Mid Wales coast) is fantastic for kids. The tide goes out a long way and leaves a massive Sandy beach. Great for building sandcastles etc.
The town is small but you can get everything you want.
We had a few holidays there but had the benefit of friends caravan though it was a 45minute drive from Barmouth itself the kids really enjoyed it there. |
