I lived there for 7 years! If it's endless drinking and lying on the beach you want, Newquay is for you, but beware- some places have started to take the p*ss with drink prices, and the local fuzz are pretty strict on drinking in the street (It's not allowed). Train, coach or car are good ways to get there, but Newquay also has a little airport with good, cheap flights if you book far enough in advance. If you want it a bit quiter, but still want beaches etc, try up or down the coast, or even south Cornwall. It gets a bit rowdy at night, with the odd punch up in the high street, and it gets really crowded this time of year. And every year some pillock will get tanked, go swimming, and drown. Camping is a cheap alternative to hotel/b and b accommodation, and you can rent static caravans quite reasonably. However, some sites don't accept all male groups, so best to check.

Have fun!

Its very good for surfing for this country. Just go to the A303 and keep going, follow the VW campers and boogey boards!

you can get a quick plane(cheap) to newquey from London, from Stanstead i think.great this time of year

Depends on what you want to do. If you want to surf and party it's a great place. Just one thing though - last time i was there the men outnumbered women by about 10 - 1 so if you're on the pull the odds are against you.

Probably best to go M4, M5 and folow the signs from there.
Oh, and it's Newquay by the way.

s*x-kitten
its spelt Newquay.
and it's great

by the way, there are no mountains, the only mountains in Cornwall are on Bodmin moor

Michael H
Do you mean Newquay in Cornwall?
1. Yes, it's brilliant..... except when it's full of emmetts (tourists) like all thru the summer season.
2. Fly

Miss Terious
yeah i have and it was brilliant, there were mountains and caves and the tide went out so far - and the water was clear blue - beautiful!

yup and it was beautiful... good for surfing.

i went last summer and the summer before; it's great fun, but only if it's nice and sunny as the main attractions are surfing lessons and other water sports. There are some nice beaches too.
Trains are a bit of a nightmare, you'll probably have to change once or twice.

Theres also a lake and stables nearby for those pedalo thingies and horse riding along the beaches (they cater for beginners to intermediate levels). Also, you can buy a return coach ticket to the Eden Project including entry for about £15 which was great fun.
And you have to try the legendary cornish cream teas...yum yum yum!!
Have fun.

I am only just up the road in Devon, Its a wicked place to go... not so good really now due to the old people taking over the town and it being almost impossible to book a Hotel if you are a group of lads or girls... but the campsites are 'good'. depends on why you are going?
