Are Northern Ireland and Scotland part of the U.K., or is it just England and Wales?

Are Northern Ireland and Scotland part of the U.K. like the England and Wales, because I always get confused all the time on that and I do not get it, because like i mean are they considered british citizens or not?

UK = England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland.
GB = England, Wales, Scotland
British Isles = UK + Ireland (geographical not political term)

All UK are british citizens, the Southern Irish are Irish citizens. Just to confuse matters, anyone born on the Island of Ireland can opt to take Irish citizenship even though they would be British by birth if born in the North.

It's no wonder people get confused!

Yes, that includes the Channel Islands, Jersey, Isles of Scilly, Orkney, Shetlands etc.

United Kingdom Of Great Britain And Northern Ireland as stated on the front of Passports..

McGyver06
UK does include Northern Ireland, Scotland, wales, England

Although all now have separate parliaments or Assembly's, all have UK passports but some consider either Wales, N. Ireland or Scotland their national identity rather than UK or great Britain, although if visiting Northern Ireland or Scotland it may be best to Avoid the Subject.

Scotland and Northern Ireland also have their own version of the UK currency (Sterling)

The official name for UK is United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
It consists of 4 Different countries
1.England - Capital City - London
2.Wales - cap city- Cardiff-Generally associated with England coz most of English Laws apply here
3.Scotland- cap city- Edinburgh-Independent kingdom later joined with England under the act of Union to form UK
4.Northern Ireland- Capital Belfast-Once a part of Unified Ireland only for the south part to seperate and form a republic called Eire,

All citizens of these four countries are British and some may prefer to be identified with their Nation more..for example some people wish to be identified as Welsh rather than British...Its just like oneself wishing to be called a Texan rather than american. Makes no difference..
