I think that generally the farther north you go, the friendlier the people... i.e. northern english people are MUCH friendlier than the southern lot.

Every area has their own supply of nutters though.

As long as you're not English

Emizzle
definately not!!

Personally I think the English are just about as friendly as it gets. If I had to choose, it'd be the English. And that's a lot coming from a Scot.

Sica
Scotland is the most violent country in Western Europe, so no

i think you should judge everyone you meet on an individual basis and not where he derives from so i think you will find plenty of good and bad on both sides of the wall

Cognitive Dissonance
Edinborough folks are

Glaswegians are crazy!

Hotstuff here's a newsflash Scotland is in Great Britain so we're all Brits duh!
I can't believe people are stereotyping all Scots as drunken benefit scroungers! I have a very responsible job and have always paid my own way (and there are thousands more like me). I have also travelled a lot in England and abroad and can honestly say the friendliest people are in Scotland. Can't beat a night out in Merchant City (paid for by my hard-earned wages!!)

Dizzybyname
Stupid question. Everyone is an individual so you'll get a mix on both sides of the borders.
I'm with Kell on this one. Why stereotype? I'm 100% Scots and I detest alcohol and there are plenty more like me. Yes, we have our share of drunken yobs, but then so have England, we watch the news too you know! seen plenty of footage of shaven headed drunken English yobs on the rampage - do we then surmise that all English are the same? Of course not, the Scots have more sense! Go think up an intelligent question to ask instead of trying to stir it!

yes. ;)
because we live in 'fresh' cough cough air..

English Sniper
No. Especially if you're English yourself.

You can't say 'more friendlier' - you mean 'more friendly'.
No, I don't think they are. All British people are equally friendly.

King Cobra32
Yes definately...

No, Scots are harsh and miserable (when they are not drunk)

My Gran's scottish,i'm english and i'd say yeah they are.Scottish people have a better sense of humour than the english, are easier to get on with and seem more relaxed with people than the english- though this might be something to do with all the whisky they drink.Still,i wouldn't want to live where my Gran is - too cold lol

Niki
There is nothing fun about generalisation and negative stereotypes. :/

some are (:
but, some of them can get very violent.
Like my mum + my uncle, they are scottish + can get voilent in a bad situation.
but they are generally nice people.
except when it comes to football, for example Celtic + Glasgow lmaoo. They get rather angry during the footy lmaoo

Lucy
I would say no but i'm probably bias as i'm english! Obviously they're not all like this but a very large majority of scottish people I have come across have been very aggressive and rude! A lot of english people are too though obviously.

Flying Fid
No they are not. The Scots have the biggest proportion of violent crimes against the person in western societies, the biggest proportion of alcoholics and the most mental illness. They are not nice people at all.

x zoe x
yes LOL

Aye, too right we are!
OMG. we are violent? what about football fans? you have the hooligans and we have the cheery tartan army!!??

I think they spend more time with extended families.
In general though I would say they arent friendlier.

They are drunk most of the time and spend the rest of the time moaning about the english despite living on welfare providied by our taxes.

vilain mais gentil
No, scottish men are miserable and the scottish are a bit loud!
us brits are far more polite!
