I take it you are American? The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland consists of 2 constituent countries: Scotland and England, a principality: Wales and a province: Northern Ireland.

If you are from any of these place you can class yourself as British.

Yes. Britain includes England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, so people from all of those countries are classed as British. We do prefer to be regarded as the seperate countries we come from though - so I consider myself to be English rather than British.
