Yes, red heads are still being discriminated against. It seems to be acceptable for a red head to be called all sorts of names about their hair. How can this be right when we have been taught not to taunt people about the colour of their skin or if they are overweight (mustn't mention the 'f' word) etc however it still seems perfectly acceptable to call redheads 'ginger mingers' and all the rest of the nastiness. It's not right! |

Utter tosh.
Red heads are fiery, and very sexual. Something I could never discriminate against.
;-)) |

they are not discriminated in some parts of the UK but rather ALL of the UK
we have plenty of harsh names for them
and whats worse for them, is that UK TV openly makes fun of Ginger people as though it were OK |

Yes... entire redhead families have been force to move out (relocate) due to the abuse (predjudice) given them on some rougher estates about their red hair. It's shameful... but Britain has it's fair share of thugs. |

Yes unfortunately if your ginger all the kids will take the mick out of you, i like ginger hair so i really don't understand it much. You get teased, bullied if unlucky but i don't know if you get discrimanted aganist like in jobs and such not like that... |

It is true that people do joke about not finding ginger hair (as it is called here) and the associated colouring attractive. However, I do not think that they are actually discriminated against in terms of getting jobs etc. |

All the time. They have to sit at the back of the bus in many parts of England and are not allowed out in daylight. |

No they aren't, as Children and young adults you get name calling but then you get that for anything that makes you more noticable! Children and the immature always behave that way whatever nationality! My son was very small as am I and believe me we both got teased or even insulted (still do at times) far more than my Red-haired niece, sister, or brother in law! Most British men find Red hair attractive, and it doesn't make any difference to your life as an adult! You are not going to be treated any differently than a Blonde, Brunette or Black-haired person because of the colour of your hair!!! |

I have 2 red haired sisters and they both hate their hair, I am dark haired and where they are slim I am not so but as children if they called me fatty I could always reduce them to tears by calling them ginger lol. They are both beautiful girls and very appealing to men because of their hair, despite this there does seem to be a stigma attatched to being a red head and I know they would change tomorrow if they could. |

Yes discrimination occurs. Silly people believe that redheads are more agressive, have bad tempers, are more likely to be violent, and so on.
Some people also say that red hair is unattractive (although that's a personal preference, so fair enough).
It's a great shame that the media allow these sorts of stereotypes to be expressed when similar sorts of prejudices against religious or ethnic minorities would not be tolerated. |

We make them sit at the back of the bus. |

It all stems from the anti-Irish and anti-Scot bias that has been in existence for so many years, it's just now part of the culture and people don't even realize it. |
